I'm trying to find games that weren't released on current hardware, or in the case of Batman, had a poor HD release. I haven't decided if this is to cover myself from a future spike in pricing, or if this is a desperate attempt at holding on to the most joyous years in my life, but I'm looking forward to dusting off the old slim (that thankfully still works) and reliving some fond memories. Over the last few weeks, I ended up joining in and buying well over a dozen PS3 games on eBay. Unless I'm being influenced by the YT algorithm, I'm not alone, as I have seen a regular occurrence of uploads of content creators seeking copies of PS3 games that didn't make it over to future consoles though remakes/remasters. I myself only kept one physical PS3 game, the OG release of Metal Gear Solid: Legacy Collection with the mini art book I very quickly remembered not only the great times I had during this generation, but also how many games are trapped on this console.ĭue to the lack of backward compatibility on PS4, so many great entries sort of got forgotten about.
